About Us: The History of Digital Product Art
DPA began in Bedford, NY in 1985, when local design firm, SMF, took the initiative to incorporate computers as part of its business model-becoming one of the forerunners in digital illustration. By 1987, realizing the potential of vector-based software, SMF's stable of artists set aside their ink in favor of this new electronic medium.

Two years later, Herb Sklar, one of SMF's founders, decided to branch out, forming DPA, a company based solely on providing digital illustrations as marketing tools.

Since its inception, DPA has continued to keep an eye on the big picture: our clients, their objectives, and the future.
